Staff and students at Malmesbury School are celebrating a record breaking set of A-level results.

Headteacher Tim Gilson said: “Students at Malmesbury School have produced another excellent set of A-level results this year with a record breaking 89 per cent of the grades at A*- C.

“The largest number of entries were again in the most academic subjects of maths and the sciences with English and history also being very popular.

“These results are among the best the school has ever recorded with 37 per cent of grades at A*/A; 63 per cent of the grades A*/B and 100 per cent A*-E grades at A-Level.

“Malmesbury School sixth form students are to be congratulated for working incredibly hard and achieving such strong academic results, most will now be going on to excellent universities to pursue their studies.”

Mr Gilson said particular mention should be made of the following students, an exceptional 14 per cent of the year group, who achieved at least three A*/A grades.

Jack Clark A, A*, A* (History, Maths, Further Maths); Beth Cole A*, A, A (Art, Biology, Chemistry); Sebastien Davies A*, A*, A* B (Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Art); Will Forster A, A, A (Maths, Chemistry, Physics); James Gillespie A*, A*, A* (Biology, Chemistry, Maths); Annabel Green A, A, A (French, Psychology, Spanish); Bryony Jones A*, A*, A*(Biology, Chemistry, Maths); James Long A*, A, A (Maths Further Maths, Physics); Marc McCouig A, A, A, A (Maths, Further Maths, Music Technology, Physics); Laura Petrie A*, A*, A (English Literature, Fine Art, Spanish); Laura Smith A*, A, A (Biology Chemistry, Maths); Ella Whitehouse A, A*, A* (Biology, Chemistry, Maths) Mr Gilson also praised the school’s year 12 students.

He said: “They have also produced a great set of results with special mention going to Ruby Aulak, Oliver Blake, Jacob Botterill, Grace Clancy, Kate Cummings, Toby Journeaux, George Kaye, Jacob Peers-Dent, and Jamie Wreathall who achieved at least four A grades at AS level and will be starting their final year in the sixth form in September.”
