A man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a black Vauxhall Corsa at the foot of Caen Hill, Devizes, just after 10.30pm yesterday.
A paramedic from Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Dr Ed Valentine, a SWIFT medic, attended in a response car.
The injured pedestrian received critical care at the scene before being taken by land ambulance to the trauma centre at Southmead Hospital, Bristol.
