Wargames enthusiasts will go into battle this weekend, when Attack! 2014 is held at Devizes School.

The 35th annual show of the Devizes and District Wargames Group will open from 10am to 5pm each day, with visitors able to take part in about 20 battles covering arenas from Romans to sci-fi.

Up to 35 traders will have stands at the event.

Organiser Philip Mackie said: “Six competition games will see hot competition for the trophies awarded. The show and hobby of wargames have a growing worldwide popularity amongst people of all ages, as a creative alternative to on-line games.

“There will be competitors from France, Belgium, Germany and all parts of the UK. The show attracts between 500 and 850 visitors to Devizes and the group is hoping for a record year.”

The event will be attended by First World War living history enthusiasts on Sunday.

There will also be a bring and buy stall where visitors can find a bargain or sell unwanted books and models.

Two raffles will raise money for 1st Devizes Scout Group and the British Heart Foundation.
