Mother-of-three Rebecca Lund Torres will tackle a 350km women-only bike ride across Tanzania in aid of three cancer charities.
The race, which begins at Mt Kilimanjaro on October 1, will raise money for Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer and Ovarian Cancer Action.
Mrs Lund Torres, 53, of Turf House Lane, Bremhill, will be cycling on and off road through Tanzania.
She needs to raise £3,000 for the challenge, as well as get fit and lose weight, and will be joined by niece Harriet and cousin Callie.
Mrs Lund Torres said: “I had a friend who died of cervical cancer in her 20s. I’m 53, so it was a long time ago, but I felt I needed to do something which would keep me fit and do something for others.
“If any groups or classes would like to sponsor me, I’m happy to talk to them about the challenge facing me and talk to them afterwards.”
