French and English works of art were on display in a spectacular exhibition of creativity in West Lavington Village Hall.

The exhibition was staged after a “progressive dinner” held by West Lavington Twinning Association in honour of French visitors from its beautiful “twinned” Normandy village, St Pierre d’Autils.

The evening began with drinks and canapés in two homes in the villages. From there the guests and their hosts set out on foot to several others for the main course, regrouping afterwards at the village hall over dessert and cheese.

The colourful exhibit of paintings and needlework, mounted for display by West Lavington artist Bob Giles, showcased some outstanding St Pierre and West Lavington/Littleton Panell talents. Some Normandy artworks even changed hands during the evening – for a life on Wiltshire walls.
