Dignitaries from Kenya met Devizes mayor Sarah Bridewell during a visit to the UK.
The party of four, including an education minister, were here on a trip organised by Cliff Evans of Devizes who founded The Kileva Found-ation charity.
It helps the community of Sagalla in the remote villages near the town of Voi in southern Kenya. The delegation met people involved in education, farming and local government and officials of the foundation.
Mr Evans, who moved from Reading to Devizes last year, said: “They loved the visit to the town council offices and have taken away some ideas which they will discuss with the rest of the Taita Taveta government when they get back home, along with the farming methods which they saw during a visit to a farm near Calne.”
