Children’s author Jeremy Strong entertained pupils during a visit to St Joseph’s Primary School, Malmesbury, making them giggle when he read his stories.
The Bath-based author, who visited on Tuesday, is well known for books such as The Hundred-Mile-An-Hour-Dog, and My Brother’s Famous Bottom and as part of their book week, he spoke to children in Key Stage One, Years 3 and 4, and Years 5 and 6, signed books and also showed pupils pictures of the shed where he writes.
Literacy co-ordinator Jenny Westaway said: “He was very encouraging, you could see he loved what he was doing and the children loved listening to him. We had the children come back to school and they had their noses in his books instead of running around the playground.”
The day before, pupils also had a visit from Marlborough-based Debi Evans, author of The Secret Society of Dragon Protectors fantasy books.
