An 85-year-old man from Melksham was taken to hospital after he was struck by a car on the A350 yesterday.
Police said the man walked from the cemetery, next to the A350, and stepped into the A350 and was struck by a blue Renault Megane Scenic travelling south.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics from South West Ambulance Service and Wiltshire Air Ambulance before being taken by land ambulance to the Royal United Hospital, Bath.
Police said the man’s injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The driver of the car, a 37-year-old woman from the Corsham area, was uninjured.
The accident happened at about 12.15pm and the A350 was closed for two hours while police carried out investigations. It re-opened at 2.25pm.
While some witnesses have come forward, police have asked for any other people who witnessed the accident to contact PC Barrie Card at the collision investigation team at police headquarters, Devizes, on 101.
