Box residents are invited to a meeting next month to look at proposed boundary changes between the village and Corsham.
The parish council has called the meeting to examine the plans, put forward by Corsham Town Council, which it says would see Box lose a third of its population.
Council chairman Pauline Lyons said: “This has big implications to everybody in the parish.
"In financial terms the precept for people in Corsham would be more than it would be for Box parish, so the people who could move would be paying more on their council tax, and for the people who are left in Box parish it would mean we had a lot less income.”
The parish council is keen to hear residents’ views before it puts forward its response.
The meeting will take place at Selwyn Hall on July 15, at 7.30pm.
