Music lovers flocked to Sherston for the village’s annual two-day festival Sherstonfest this weekend.

The sun shone on both Friday and Saturday, a first for the festival which started in 2012, as hundreds of revellers enjoyed a weekend of music and activities including hula-hooping, samba drum workshops and belly dancing.

It was another sell-out year for the family-friendly festival, which saw 500 people descend on Thompsons Field each day.

This year 20 acts including Fresh Dixie Project, Moscow Drug Club and Bite the Buffalo, who wowed crowds at Glastonbury last year, performed.

Organisers added a second stage this year.

Friday night’s headliner was Latino funk band Stony Browder Jr and hip-hop folk band Coco and the Butterfields headlined on Saturday.

Organiser Dave Shephard said: “It was terrific, it was amazing in every way.

"We had two stages this year and Showhawk Duo played on the second stage on the Saturday and they just hit it out of the park.”

The festival will be taking a break in 2015.

Mr Shephard said: “It was absolutely brilliant but there is no Sherstonfest planned for 2015 so the crew can take a break and the land can rest.
