Police are appealing for information about the theft of a stone statue from a grave in Devizes Cemetery.

The statue is of an angel and is about one foot tall.

It was stolen between May 27 and June 10. It was realised it was missing when family members visited the grave site in Rotherstone.

Sgt Joanne Spencer, of Devizes Police, said: “This is the sort of crime where you reflect on the callous and cruel nature of those who carry it out.”

Anyone with information should call PCSO Luke Woodward, of Devizes Neighbourhood Policing Team, on 101.
