DEVIZES School students who performed on stage at Disneyland Paris impressed the organisers so much that they have been invited back.

The 50 students were chosen to perform after auditioning for the Disney Performing Arts Outreach Programme.

They performed a medley of songs from musicals incl-uding Billy Eliot, Hairspray, We Will Rock You, Wizard of Oz and The Lion Kings.

They sang in the Videopolis auditorium to about 300 people during half-term.

Stuart MacFarlane, head of performing arts at Devizes School, said: “The performance was a huge success and really showcased the superb talent we nurture at Devizes School.

“Disney enjoyed our performance so much they have invited us back next year to perform again. This is a real compliment to all concerned with this successful trip.

“This success is down to superb support from Matt Perez, Amanda Hodder, Caroline Webb and Rebecca Merchant who gave up their half term to give our students this great opportunity.

“I also have to thank Karen Sims and Liz Soellner for their continued support of the faculty and their superb organisational skills. But most of all the success is down to the students. We rehearsed hard including early mornings and late nights. Their attitude and desire to do their best was phenomenal, a real credit to our school.”
