Wiltshire Councillor for West Selkley Jemima Milton is embarking on a 330-mile cycle ride in memory of her late husband, John.

She is taking part in the Three Cities Challenge from London to Brussels via Amsterdam to raise money for Great Western Hospital’s clinical trials team.

The team helped her husband, who died in 2012, when he was diagnosed with bowel cancer.

She said: “I’m a non executive director at the hospital so when they said a team of them were doing it I said ‘why not?’ “When my husband was diagnosed it was terminal but the clinical trials team was fantastic and gave him the quality of life for the last 18 months that nobody thought he could have.”

She will set off on the four-day challenge on August 27 and will cycle between 60 and 110 miles each day.
