Wadworth shire horses Max and Monty came away with accolades from the Royal Bath and West Show at Shepton Mallet.

They came second in the pairs trade turnout class – the same result as last year – while Max defended his singles title in the trade turnout class to win for the sixth year on the trot.

He was also awarded the overall heavy horse turnout championship rosette.

Paul Sullivan, sales and marketing director at Wadworth, said: “We’re delighted with the continued success of the shires at the Bath and West Show. They go every year.

“The effort that goes into preparing for the shows and cleaning up – especially after the mud this year – is extensive.

“The team have done exceptionally well and continue to fly the flag for Wadworth and the preservation of our heritage.

“We look forward to defending our title and maybe even winning the pairs for a clean sweep next year.”
