The weather could not have been better for this year’s garden fair in the grounds of Rowdeford School, Rowde.

The sun shone, plants were loaded into cars by happy customers, the Pimm’s flowed, the ice creams melted and Peter Vaughan’s sausages and other dishes on offer were much in demand.

Dave & Ewe’s animals – Treacle, the school’s pig and her three piglets, the alpacas, miniature horses, sheep, rabbits, goats and ducks – kept cool under the trees.

The organisers, Rowdeford Charity Trust, believe that the event will have raised £6,500 to £7,000 towards the Rowdeford Eco-Centre Project, which offers teaching for children with special educational needs.

School governor Rosie Berry said: “The atmosphere was terrific. It was a wonderful day with a huge number of plants for people to buy.”
