Organisers of the Concert at the Kings charity gig in All Cannings will be holding a golden ticket draw where a member of the audience will be able to go backstage and meet the bands performing.

It is a new idea by the show’s organisers, including Richard Baulu, who said: “On the day of the concert we will draw one of the ticket stubs and they will be able to go backstage and have a chance to meet the stars, get their autographs and have their photos taken with them.

“It will be an opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of the concert backstage. It’s the first time we have done it and it’s another way for people to get something else out of the day.”

The bands performing on the main stage are The Boomtown Rats with Bob Geldof, The Troggs, Los Pacaminos with Paul Young, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel and The Straits.

The concert is on Saturday, May 31 and is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, Above and Beyond, which supports hospitals in Bristol, and projects in All Cannings. It is being held in a field behind the Kings Arms pub.

Mr Baulu said tickets were selling well, with more than 3,250 sold out of 4,500 available. He has urged people who want to go to get their tickets soon as the week before the event normally results in a last-minute rush.
