Market Lavington Parish Council is fundraising to enable life-saving defibrillators to be installed in the village.

The parish council would like to raise money for at least two machines, which will cost a minimum of £2,700.

So far, more than £500 has been raised by Steve Wragg, the landlord of the Green Dragon pub in the village.

The parish council’s decision comes after Lavington School bought a defibrillator.

It is located on an external wall of the school so that it is available for the wider community to use.

Defibrillators are used on people whose heart has stopped beating.
