Last year’s regional winners of the St John Ambulance national schools first aid competition have both retained their trophies.
Pupils from Sheldon School in Chippenham won the top three places in the senior school competition, while St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Malmesbury came in first and second place in the junior school category.
Both teams will now take part in the national finals in Staffordshire on June 25. Sheldon School will defend the national title it won in 2013.
Sheldon teacher Jackie Needham said: “We’re delighted and proud to have won. The children have all worked so hard.”
The national winners will get £750 to spend on school equipment, with the runner- up and third-placed team getting £350 and £200.
