Fine weather over the May Day bank holiday weekend ensured the Devizes Lions' fair raised £2,000 for good causes.
Hundreds of people passed through the May Day Fair in the Market Place on bank holiday Monday, enjoying a Victorian roundabout ride.
Lions Club members organised a range of sideshows while dressed in period costume.
There was plenty of fun for all the family and, although it was not primarily a fundraising event, the club collected a significant amount of money.
President Geoffrey Taylor said: “We do not charge for entry, as the main aim of the day is not fundraising.
“However, helped by the fine weather, those attending entered into the spirit of the occasion, enjoyed all the fun of the fair and spent or donated generously.
“As a result, after our expenses are taken into account, we will have raised over £2,000 to use towards the many requests for help that we receive during the year.”
