Green-fingered schools across Wiltshire are being offered a chance to get their hands on some free compost as part of Compost Awareness Week (CAW) which runs until May 11.

The Warrior Compost is being provided by Hills Waste Solutions and is limited to the first four schools that call at any one of the county’s 11 household recycling centres (HRCs).

In total 220 bags of compost will be available across the county.

Steve Burns, divisional director for Hills, said: “All the school needs to do is provide a compliment slip or letter from the school as identification and that will allow them to take compost with our compliments.”

Warrior Compost is made from green waste collected from Wiltshire residents. It is peat-free, certified to BSI PAS100 standard and accredited by both the Association for Organics Recycling and the Soil Association.
