More than 700 people have already entered this year’s Chippenham Half Marathon, which takes place on Sunday, September 7.

With entries limited to 2,200, organisers are encouraging runners to get their entries in early to avoid disappointment.

Race director Ian Wiggins said: “The event is again likely to be sold out well before September, so I would urge people not to leave it too late to enter. We have already had two runners from Canada, so clearly our strong reputation is reaching far and wide.”

The event, organised by runners for runners, was voted fifth in the Runners World Top 10 half marathons last year, and this year features in the Wiltshire Road Race League sponsored by Newsquest.

It has raised £35,000 for charity since 2008 and will raise funds for Wiltshire Air Ambulance and others this year. Entry details are at www.chippenhamhalf marathon.co.uk
