Some Corsham traders' patience is wearing thin as filming in the town's High Street takes place for the new version of Poldark, due to be shown in 2015.

Actor Aidan Turner, who plays Ross Poldark in the BBC’s new adaptation of the Cornish period drama, attracted attention yesterday as he strode the streets of Corsham.

The High Street has been was transformed for filming with shop fronts turned into those that would not have looked out of place in 18th century Truro.

Daisy Coppin, owner of Coppins of Corsham jewellers, said: “We are on the corner of the High Street and Church Street. A different name has been put above the door, things have been put in the High Street window and the shutters on our Church Street window have been closed.

“It is great for the town and fun to watch but it is not great for business.

"The disruption has been a lot more than what I was led to believe.

“The problem we have is that people think we are closed.

"One lady told us she waited 25 minutes to get through (the cordon) but said she would try and get back to us at the weekend. It is a little bit frustrating.
