On lookout for heroes at Hilmarton’s annual scarecrow trail this weekend
8:00am Monday 5th May 2014 in News
Families can help track down heroes and villains at Hilmarton’s annual scarecrow trail on May 10 and 11, as well as raise money for local organisations.
More than 40 scarecrows will form part of the trail, including creations by children at Hilmarton Primary School and the village pre-school.
Last year it raised around £1,000 for charity and this year money will go to the school, the pre-school and a campaign set up to help three-year-old Ollie Baker walk.
Ollie, who goes to Hilmarton Pre-school, has a form of cerebral palsy and needs money for a private operation, which is not available on the NHS.
The trail starts from the community rooms in Poynder Place and will include stalls and side attractions.
Organiser Natalie Doust said: “There’s some very traditional children’s themed ones, but there’s some I’ve never heard of so it will be quite interesting.”
The trail runs from 10am to 4pm on both days and there will be live music at The Duke on Saturday evening.
