A workshop for budding plant and garden photographers is being held on Saturday, May 10, at Lacock Abbey.

The day event is being led by Philip Smith, founder and organiser of the prestigious International Garden Photographer of the Year competition which is on show in the grounds of Lacock Abbey until May 22.

The workshop will focus on improving photography skills and learning about garden photography, from macro, depth of field, composition, digital processing and light and colour.

It’s suitable for all abilities and the day will focus on learning and discovering, rather than taking many pictures, and Mr Smith will be available for one-to-ones to answer any questions.

Participants will also head out to the grounds of Lacock Abbey to view the International Garden Photographer of the Year with a guided tour by Mr Smith.

Spaces are very limited so keen garden photographers should book their tickets soon.

The workshop runs for a whole day and includes lunch. The cost is £75 per person and booking is essential on 0844 249 1895 or at nationaltrust.org.uk/lacock
