Music lovers flocked to Sound Knowledge in Marlborough at the weekend for the annual celebration of vinyl records.

On Saturday the independent music store, in Hughenden Yard, was one of 240 across the country to sell exclusive vinyl releases to mark the seventh Record Store Day.

The party continued on Sunday when five local bands, The Computers, The Vooz, Sam Brookes, Emily Barker and Dirty 6 preformed at Azuza cafe.

Roger Mortimer, owner of Sound Knowledge, said: “We’ve been involved in Record Store Day since its inception and every year the publicity has increased and more and more people get to know about it and it’s just grown and grown.

“The day is all about the vinyl and that’s what gets the queues outside the door.

“We’ve always organised it so that the bands play on the Sunday because Record Store Day is so popular we just couldn’t organise two events at once. “There is always a great atmosphere when the bands play live and it’s always a really great day.”
