Mum-of-two Danielle Vizor, 26, has chopped off her long locks in support of her mum Julie Dillon, who has breast cancer.

After watching her 47-year-old mum struggle as she lost her hair through chemotherapy earlier this year, Mrs Vizor decided she too would go bald to show her support and to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

Despite having always had long or shoulder-length hair, Mrs Vizor, of Barley Close, Malmesbury, is already getting used to the new style.

She said: “I have a cold head but I quite like it; it feels free. In December my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and through her treatment she lost her hair; she got quite upset about it.

“She was worried about the looks people would give her, so I said I would shave mine off.

“Mum didn’t want me to at first but she came round to the idea and she’s proud.”

Mrs Vizor said her children Teddy, two, and Gracie, one kept staring at her when she had her head shaved at her mother’s house in Hobbs Close.

She said: “My younger brother who is 11 helped my mum do my hair and my son helped too.”

Her mother Julie, who is in remission and has seven children and four grandchildren between her and her partner, said: “I think she looks absolutely fantastic; she’s so brave.

"I wasn’t happy about her doing it at first, because of her having so much hair, but with her raising money for charity there’s not much I can do about it.”

Mrs Vizor has raised nearly £300 through her Just Giving Page and she is still looking for more sponsorship. Donate at www.justgiving.com/danielleheadshave
