TROWBRIDGE skipper Matt Howard reckons his side can tap into coach Steve Ojomoh’s big-game experience as they prepare for a red-letter day in their own rugby careers.

Ojomoh featured in cup finals for Bath as well as Six Nations internationals and World Cup matches for England during a glittering playing career and is fully versed in coming through high-pressure situations to get the right result.

“Steve is trying to get us to approach it as any other game,’’ said Howard. “He’s got the experience of playing in big matches like this.

“The end prize is a game at Twickenham. It would be a fantastic day out for the club and supporters and everyone whatever happens, but, in many ways, this is the final.

“It’s more nervous an- ticipation really. Our prop Sean Jones has played at Twickenham for Dorset & Wilts and some of us have played at a higher level, but this is probably the biggest game any of our other players will have played in.

“Steve has had a word with us and we’re past the stage of looking for bonus-point league wins. If we win 3-0, we’ll take it.

“We got off on the right foot by winning against Wells. We’d had a bit of a break before that so it was a good opportunity to get back up to speed and hopefully we can take that into the game on Saturday.’’

Tries from Adam Sullivan, Dave Martin, Jackson Szabo and Sam Edwards secured a 26-21 win against Wells in their final Southern Counties South match last weekend, Lloyd Davis kicking three conversions.

Trowbridge will host Aylesbury in a promotion play-off a week tomorrow, while their third team were crowned Dorset & Wilts Three North champions after a 49-18 win over Supermarine 3rd.

Jay Patterson, a brace from Jake Hemingway, Phil Kilcoyne, Tom Davies, Liam Ellis, Niall Jones, Ryan Jones and Paul Taylor scored Trowbridge’s tries.
