Corsham Farmers’ Market shuts down
2:00pm Thursday 17th April 2014 in News
Dwindling stall numbers and the loss of vegetable producers have forced the monthly Corsham Farmers’ Market to close.
The market, which took place in the High Street on the third Saturday of the month, was organised by the Wiltshire Farmers’ Markets Association.
Administrator Sue Thomson said: “With increasingly easy access to local food it has been a constant challenge for a small market such as Corsham to cost-effectively attract enough customers to the market each month to keep it viable.
“Stall numbers have been dwindling and losing the vegetable producers at the end of 2013 was a major blow.
It is hoped the market can be replaced by a community market later this year, after the Corsham Food and Drink Festival on June 21.
