Police have released an e-fit picture of a man who stripped naked in a charity shop in Malmesbury and exposed himself, as similar cases around the country come to light.

Officers have not ruled out that the offender who walked out of the Cancer Research UK shop’s changing room unclothed on April 3 could be involved in other offences, including a similar report in Derbyshire in the last week.

Sergeant Martin Alvis, of Malmesbury police, said: “The officer dealing with this will definitely look into it.

“We don’t recognise him, but the lady who he exposed himself too said he spoke with a local accent so we are not ruling anything out at the moment and we will be liaising and sharing information with our colleagues to identify whether the incidents are linked.”

As reported in the Gazette and Herald last week, a man believed to be in his 40s went in to the changing rooms of the High Street charity shop and came out naked and began browsing through the shoes at about 5pm on Thursday, April 3.

A volunteer member of staff and a customer witnessed the incident and the man was asked to leave.

He is described as a white male, about 5ft 4ins to 5ft 8ins with light brown/greying hair, and has been wearing a purple/pink T-shirt, medium grey jogging bottoms and spoke with a polite, local accent.

In Derbyshire, a man exposed himself to a schoolgirl after coming out of the changing room of a Salvation Army shop nude on Thursday, April 10.

Staff said it is the second time a man, who is believed to be the same person, has done this following a similar incident last year.
