The Manton Estate has submitted plans to Wiltshire Council to change land next to their proposed housing development into a nature park.
Currently the land belongs to sons of late multi-millionaire Robert Sangster, Ben and Guy, who want to exchange it for the recreation ground next to Rabley Wood View, which is owned by Wiltshire Council.
If the exchange goes ahead, the Sangsters plan to build 46 houses on the council owned land and replace the kick-about area and play area within the nature park.
The plans have been met with fierce objections from nearby residents who believe the replacement land is unsuitable and theses concerns have been echoed by Marlborough Town Council.
