South Westlife won Sheldon’s own production of X Factor and helped the Chippenham school raise £4,430 for Sport Relief.

Fourteen very different acts were given by sixth formers and staff on March 28.

Winners Joe Coombs, Joe Oxley, Yugo Jacques, Ed Holland and Elliott Mumford wowed the 200-strong audience with Keep On Movin’.

Headteacher Neil Spurdell said: “There were many surprises to be had, whether in the form of witty repartee from Sheldon’s very own Sharon, Nicole, Louis and Gary, the hidden talents of some of the teachers, or the enormous variety to be seen among the students.

“There was much deliberation but the well-choreographed boy band, South Westlife, was clearly the audience favourite.

“Maybe the real winners were those who were there to enjoy the occasion.”

Year 12s were triumphant in a Varsity sports event against rival Year 13s, while donations of water bottles and socks from Sainsbury’s helped to further swell the total for Sport Relief.
