Darth Vader will be invading Corsham later this month, as aliens and monsters take over the town for the annual Charity Sci-Fi family fun day.

Bristolian actor Dave Prowse, who played the villainous Sith Lord in the original Star Wars films, as well as the Green Cross Code Man in the 1970s, will be at The Corsham School on April 26 for the charity event.

Charity sci-fi group chairman Ady Davies said: “Dave Prowse is our head guest, which is a bit of a coup, and he’ll be joined by Star Wars co-star John Morton, who’s only ever done one signing in the UK before.

“We’ve also got Jon Davey, who has played monsters in more episodes of Doctor Who than any of the Doctors, and a team coming from Skynet at the MoD to provide some reality to the science fiction. They’ll have some of their kit on display, and will be answering questions.

“We’ll have the Wiltshire Scrapstore and some of the best face painters in the South West. I’m excited – it’s all going to be quite good again, another cracking day.”

The Corsham group raised more than £30,000 for charity last year, with the Corsham Sci-Fi day netting more than £6,800.

Tickets are available from Automattic Comics on Pickwick Road, or on the door from 10.30am.

All money raised will be split between several different charities, including Marie Curie Cancer Care, Guide Dogs for the Blind, and Wiltshire Young Carers.
