A man who took part in a house burglary while on early release from prison is back behind bars.

Harley Webb, 24, broke into the large detached property in Marlborough over the Christmas period.

At the time he was on early release from a 16-month sentence imposed for another burglary in the town, again committed shortly after his release from jail.

The latest house to be raided, in Leaze Road, was targeted between Friday, December 20, last year and Thursday, January 10, this year.

Numerous items including laptop computers, iPad, jewellery, two TVs, DVD player, Blu-ray player and a TV recorder were taken.

Also stolen was a replica Rolex watch, silver napkin rings and candle holders, two pairs of Oakley sunglasses, kitchen knives and various bottles of alcohol.

Webb, of no fixed abode but who previously lived in Croft Road, Swindon, pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary.

A judge at Swindon Crown Court was told he was awaiting sentence for similar matters in Gloucester and wanted to deal with all his past offending.

Judge Douglas Field said he would send the case to Gloucester Crown Court where he could be sentenced for all matters together and remanded him in custody.

Webb was jailed for 16 months in October 2012 for stealing £3,000 worth of fishing tackle from a garage in Chiminage Close, Marlborough.

At the time he had just been released from a 42-month jail term for robbery.
