Children's artistic talent was well to the fore this week as their work was displayed in St Mary’s Church, Bishops Cannings.

The ninth Young People’s Art Competition and Exhibition showed off the talent of all who took part and is well worth a visit to the church to view. It is open daily.

Organiser Sarah Padwick said: “The children are to be greatly congratulated on their excellent artwork.”

The contest was judged by local artists Flora Rudd, Jeff Meddings and Val Craig.

The prize winners are: Four to seven-year-old group: 1st Maya Richards (7); 2nd Emily Rees (7); 3rd Chloe Rebbeck (5); highly commended Liv Nordlund (6).

Eight to 11-year-old group: 1st Libby Saulter (10); 2nd Hannah Gray (11); 3rd Dylan Martch Harry (8); highly commended Hannah Gray (11) and Maddie Watson (10).

12 to 14-year-old group: 1st Emma Bogert (13); 2nd Ben Mackison (13); 3rd Bethany Rendall (13); highly commended Bethany Rendall (13) and Andrew Gray (13).

15 to 18-year-old group: 1st Katie Sims (17); 2nd Amy Fortune (17); 3rd Lily Shergold (17); highly commended Olivia Moss (18).
