Health chiefs do not know how long the X-ray service at Devizes Hospital will be out of action.
The X-ray machine broke on March 10 and patients are being sent to other hospitals.
The service is run by the Royal United Hospital, Bath, and a spokesman said: “The equipment cannot be repaired. We have contacted all patients who have been affected, to offer appointments at Melksham Comm-unity Hospital or at the RUH.
“We are working very closely with our colleagues at Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group to discuss an alternative solution to ensure a local service is re-established as quickly as possible.”
