The Canal and River Trust is appealing for volunteers to befriend visitors to the Kennet and Avon Canal at Devizes and has arranged a recruitment day at Caen Hill Café next Sunday, April 6.

Between 10am and 4pm staff from the trust will welcome potential recruits to the volunteer team they are setting up to guide and welcome the many hundreds of people who visit the Caen Hill Locks each year.

Amy Langan of the trust said: “If you have a welcome smile to share and want to find out more why not contact us or drop in to see us and share a pot of coffee at the Caen Hill Café on April 6.”

She can be contacted on (01380) 737928 or at amy.
