Coun Ray Sanderson honoured the NPT for their service to the local community at a meeting in Malmesbury Town Hall on Friday.
Special mention was given to the NPT for their efforts during the floods in November 2012, when large parts of the town were badly affected.
Sergeant Martin Alvis, of Malmesbury NPT, said: "It is a real privilege to police the community of Malmesbury.
"Malmesbury maybe a small town but it has a vibrant community that deserves the very best.
"I am confident that the my team deliver a tailored made service to keep the town and villages of Malmesbury safe.
"It was an honour to accept the award on behalf of my team."
