Athletes at St Mary’s Sports Centre in Calne chose between a sponsored swim and run for Sports Relief last weekend, with some running up to three miles on Sunday.

Johnathan Andrews, development duty officer, said between 45 to 50 people took part in the run.

He said: “The bulk of the people took part in the shorter distance and we had a handful that took part in the longer three mile run.

"It’s always a good thing for us to hold here and it’s obviously for a very good cause.

“We’re looking forwards to next year’s event and we might put a different twist on it. The third element of Sports Relief is the cycle ride, which is what we might like to do in the future.”
