Staff at Sainsbury’s in Calne raised £1,500 for Sports Relief on Friday through a 32.6 mile cycle ride visiting other local stores and a flash mob to Black Lace by Superman.

Eight employees, including the store’s new manager Craig Hussey, spent over four hours on the road cycling to other Sainsbury’s stores in Devizes, Melksham and Chippenham.

Employee Lynn Clark, who took part in the cycle ride, said overall Sainsbury’s stores across England have raised £6.5 million for Sports Relief.

She said: “It’s nice to be part of that, it’s pretty cool. We started at the same time. We all finished together, and we all got round, so that was the most important thing.

“The scenery on the route was amazing. Going up the hill to Devizes was tough, I had to walk that one, but going from Devizes along the locks was lovely.”
