Customers at Luna Boutiques are getting ready to strut their stuff on the catwalk to raise money for Dorothy House.

The clothes shop, in Kingsbury Street, is hosting a day of fashion and pampering at the Town Hall on April 13 from 11am to 4pm to raise money for the hospice.

Downstairs there will be a number of stands, including ones from Luna Boutiques and The Wellbeing Clinic as well as places to eat, have beauty treatments and even tarot readings.

Upstairs there will be fashion shows at 12pm and 1.30pm as well as talks throughout the day on acupuncture, nutrition, life choices and psychic and spiritual development.

Owner of Luna Boutiques Caroline Mainwaring said: “It’s starting to create quite a buzz now because it’s something a bit different to do at the weekend.

“The minimum we’d like to raise is £2,000 which is a lot but the hall has a capacity of 400 so if we can sell that many tickets we should do it.

“We have a fizz bar and all the proceeds from that and the mini facials are going to Dorothy House. I’ve asked all the stall holders to make a donation at the end of day so hopefully we should be able to reach our target.

“We’ve had so many customers who have volunteered to be models or to help out on the day.”

”Tickets cost £10 and are available from Luna Marlborough, Luna Too in High Street, Hungerford or by calling (01488) 686383.
