Students at Pewsey Vale School cooked up romance for an interhouse Master Chef competition.
Teams representing the school’s houses – Martinsell, Swanborough and Savernake – were judged by former student Matthew Ambrose, now a chef at Claridge’s, London.
The theme was a romantic evening and teams, made up of a teacher, a Key Stage 2 and a Key Stage 3 pupil, had 90 minutes for three courses.
Food technology teacher Bridget Spark said: “I wanted to promote the house system that we have here at the school and also for the pupils to have fun cooking.”
The winner was Martinsell – maths teacher Barbara Reeder, pupils James Handley and Tabatha Ford – with salmon, watercress sauce and parmesan breadsticks, chorizo and chicken pasta and a trio of champagne jelly, crème brûlée and cheesecake.
