Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious crash on the A4361 near Winterbourne Bassett yesterday which left a man fighting for his life.
A 40-year-old man was driving south along the A4361 towards Winterbourne Bassett from Broad Hinton when his silver Ford Ka cabriolet crashed just after 1.40pm.
The car overturned onto the grass verge at the side of the road, leaving the driver, who is believed to live in Swindon, with what are described as life threatening injuries.
He was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital, near Bristol.
A black Honda Civic was also involved but the driver was unharmed.
Officers closed the road for more than two hours while they carried out investigations.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or events immediately prior to the collision, and has not already made contact with Wiltshire Police, should do so immediately.
Police are particularly keen to speak to a cyclist who was almost struck by the vehicle at the time of the collision.
