Marlborough residents looking to make new friends while enjoying a home cooked lunch can take advantage of a new drop-in scheme at Coombe End Court.
From 11am to 2pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, people can visit the care home and,for £5, have a two-course lunch served at 12.30pm.
Day centre co-ordinator Di Palmer said: “I think people get a bit lonely at home by themselves so they can come here and have a nice chat with people who use the day centre and others who have just come for lunch.
“They have a choice of two mains and two puddings and all they have to do is turn up at 11am and let us know they want lunch.”
The drop-in days aim to show people the benefits of day centres and were officially launched by Claire Perry.
