Children and parents at Rowde Academy plan to be cook up a storm to help our Give Us A Chance appeal.

Teaching assistant Jo Harper is organising a cake sale on Monday and Tuesday, with the help of three pupils from Year 5.

She said: “I read an article in the Gazette about how the funding for the centre has been cut and decided I wanted to help.

“One of the year 5 girls is leaving the school soon and she wanted to do a cake sale before leaving, so we decided the Opportunity Centre would be our focus.”

Parents are being asked to bake cakes to be sold during morning break and after school on both days.

All the money generated from the baking will go to the appeal.

A fundraising quiz takes place today at 7.30pm, at St Joseph’s Primary School, Devizes. To enter a team, call (01380) 726077.

Devizes Wyvern Club will hold a bingo session on April 6 and table top sale on April 27.
