Children's activity group Tumble Tots is reinforcing the importance of combining physical exercise with a healthy diet.
Tumble Tots centres across the UK, including Chippenham, have given out booklets containing healthy recipes by nutritionist Annabel Karmel.
The Mayor of Chippenham Sylvia Gibson and her consort gave out fruit to each child to launch the annual ‘Eat Fit Keep Fit’ campaign at the Gymbabes and Tumble Tots classes, which take place on Tuesdays at St Paul’s Church Hall.
Debbie Bensley, who has the franchise for Chippenham, Trowbridge and Bath, said: “People don’t know what size portions are ‘Five a Day’ for children, so this year’s campaign is portion size for the under-fives.
“It is all explained in the booklets given out to all children.”
The Tumble Tots programme for children from six months is designed to develop children's agility, balance and co-ordination.
