IF you have a talent for performing then Devizes Mayor Pete Smith wants to hear from you.

Coun Smith is holding a show called Mayor’s Got Talent, on the lines of Britain’s Got Talent, and is encouraging talented performers to enter. The event is raising money for his charities – Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Canon’s House and Wiltshire Young Carers.

Coun Smith said: “We have got a lot of talent in Devizes that people don’t really see. It will be nice for people who are not recognised to be seen.

“I love Britain’s Got Talent, it’s one of my favourite programmes. When Susan Boyle appeared on it and started singing for the first time it was a wonderful experience.”

Coun Smith will be one of the judges on the panel of three for the contest. It is open to all amateur performers aged 11 and over who live in the Devizes area.

For an entry form and the rules contact the town hall on 01380 722160 or email caroleberry@devizes-tc.gov.uk The closing date is March 10 and a live performance of the acts will be on March 15 at the town hall at 7.30pm.
