Shoppers in Harrods looking to shell out for something special this Easter will have a cracking choice of chocolate treats, thanks to a Corsham chocolatier.
Diana Short, owner of Lick The Spoon, has been hard at work with head chocolatier Tina Ingamells to produce a range of luxury Faberge-style eggs of various sizes, which will be on sale in the iconic department store’s food hall.
But the Potley Lane-based firm’s crowning achievement is an extravagant red and gold gilded egg, which measures half a metre tall and took four days to complete.
Mrs Short said: “We have worked with Harrods for the last couple of years, and they always pick up on the specialities we do.
“We have done eggs this size before, which can often be found in our shop window in Cirencester, but we don’t usually take orders for this kind of size.
“It’s going to be quite a journey getting it into London. We’re going to take it down in some protective packaging ourselves, as we can’t trust a courier with it, but it will be worth it.”
