Indoor stage is new attraction at Wiltshire music and cider festival
Organisers of the third annual SherstonFest are busy preparing for what they hope will be another sell-out weekend celebration of contemporary British music and cider.
Early bird tickets sold out within 12 hours and a second batch sold out even quicker, within two hours and 17 minutes.
Regular day and weekend tickets for the festival in Sherston, near Malmesbury, on June 13 and 14 are also selling well, but both days are still available.
Co-organiser Dave Shephard said: “Tickets are selling like hot cakes.
“The big news we have to announce this week is that we are adding an indoor stage, so there will be two stages this year, and indoor one and an outdoor one.
“The line-up will be released in a couple of weeks time but it will be the normal eclectic mix of the best contemporary British music.
“We could do with a bit more sunshine because people buy more tickets when the sun shines so we could do with a bit of that, but saying that we are pretty much on schedule.
“The last two years have been complete sell-outs.”
Preparations for the festival began just before Christmas.
“The new indoor stage is to help keep people out of the sun, rather than the rain,” Mr Shephard added.
“We are also organising another secret mass kids event between parents and the school because we like to try and get everyone involved.”
Last year youngsters paraded the village with their instruments playing and dancing to Samba.
For the seniors of the village, tea and cake will be laid on for the Saturday morning, courtesy of Malmesbury Cake Society, with music and cider provided as the day goes on.
The main events will be on the Friday and Saturday evenings with gigs for adults (14 and over) on Friday, and all the family on the Saturday night.
Tickets cost £25 for the weekend, £10 for Friday and £20 for Saturday.
