Flood defences in Bradford on Avon stood firm over the weekend but other areas of Wiltshire, including Aldbourne, are affected by flooding.

The roads closed this morning due to flooding are Smallbrook Road in Warminster, the B3106 in Holt, the B3105 in Staverton and Lacock Bridge in Lacock is closed. Midford Road in Midford is closed due to a landslip.

There is severe flooding at Aldbourne, near Marlborough, while the Frome Road in Wingfield, the B390 at Chitterne, near Warminster and the A360 at Tilshead are also affected.

Spray from traffic in Aldbourne is said to be contributing to water going into homes in West Street, where Brian Warneford's was mopping out today.

The Bradford on Avon defences in the Bull Pit and Westbury Gardens were supplied by Bristol City Council and were set up on Thursday night and Friday morning as river levels suddenly rose.

Bradford on Avon fire crew spent three hours on Friday night pumping away water that had seeped through the barriers in the Bull Pit because of the uneven surface.

The defences remain in place as more rain is forecast for this week, with another weather front moving in on Tuesday.
