Library users across Wiltshire were asked to sum up what they love about their libraries using words and images as part of a national celebration this week.

Chippenham Library was among the six Wiltshire libraries taking part in the scheme, which involved collecting contributions from members of the public to create a “love libraries” display.

Customers at Chippenham Library were asked to participate in the photo collage on Monday where they were photographed holding a sign saying what they are doing in the library that day.

The photo collage also took place at libraries in Devizes, Royal Wootton Bassett, Warminster, Trowbridge and Salisbury.

Chippenham librarian Laura Ashford said: “This week was about celebrating the different things that we do at the library and the photo collage was a good way of showing that.

“It’s been busy, but we like it like that, and the events we have held have gone down really well. We will be doing a membership drive throughout the month.”

Throughout February library customers will also be encouraged to nominate a friend or family member to join the library. Both will be entered into a prize draw to win book related items.

Chippenham Library will also be holding an eBook support session from 10am to noon on Saturday. For more information, contact 01249 650536.
